DBA Hollywood Has Closed

July 8, 2015- 0 Comments

DBA Hollywood on Santa Monica has officially closed its doors, after rumors flying for the last few months.

DBA was founded in 2013 and was originally conceived to be a nightclub without the typical mores of being a nightclub, the early shows featured everything from artsy shows curated by Simon Hammerstein (which featured full frontal nudity at times) to “For the Record,” whereupon songs would commemorate the films of Quentin Tarantino.

As for what’s happening with the iconic space next, current controller Bhavnani can’t say as per his lawyer’s recommendation. Prior to DBA, the building had also been a jazz club in the 1950’s, a strip joint, lesbian bar called Peanuts, and nightclub Voyeur. - LA Eater
